When you check in at He'eia State Park's office located in the main banquet hall building, our staff will show you to your kayak on our waterfront. We'll also give you a personalized safety and instructional briefing with your waterproof map of the bay so you will know before you go, and be ready for a safe, fun paddling and snorkeling adventure. We'll show you how to get to the famous Kane'ohe Sandbar, as well as many other pristine, hidden patch reefs that offer amazing snorkeling away from the crowds!
Get out there and experience the best paddling and snorkeling destination on Oahu! Kane'ohe Bay boasts unique patch reef systems where you'll find the healthiest coral reef anywhere on Oahu. These reefs provide safe habitat for countless tropical reef fish, sea turtles, manta rays, and so much more marine life. Exploring by kayak makes for a quiet, intimate, low impact, and eco-friendly way to observe this wonderful marine life for yourself. And don't miss the one-of-a-kind Kane'ohe Sandbar, aka "Sunken Island"! There is no better way to explore Kane'ohe Bay!
Once back on dry land our team is happy to answer questions about the reef or maybe some exotic fish that you saw while on your excursion! We have showers and bathrooms for your use before heading back into town for lunch!

Know before you go
Our tandem kayaks have a weight limit of 500 pounds. If either paddler exceeds 250 pounds, it is not recommended to go in a tandem kayak with another person, even if the combined weight does not exceed the weight limit. For paddlers of 250 pounds and above, it is recommended to use a kayak set up for solo paddler configuration.
Although Kane’ohe Bay is the flattest, safest, most protected bay on Oahu, the level of difficulty and challenge here can vary, mainly based on local wind conditions. The direction and strength of the wind on any given day will determine the experience, skill, and comfort level needed to reach different destinations. Check with our staff and know before you go!
Please don't forget to pack water and sunscreen! You will be on the water and in the sun and your health should be number one concern! You may also wish to bring a underwater camera and towels for after you done!
To Cancel or Reschedule, please be sure to contact us at least 24 hours before your booking. We do not offer refunds for cancelations or no shows. You are expected to be at your event 5 mins prior to the start time.
